The system has found the satellite but you have no TV channels2020-03-16T11:08:18+02:00
  • Check the connection cables between your satellite receiver and your TV.
  • Switch the receiver and TV sequentially off and on. Consult the manual of your satellite tuner / TV if necessary.
  • Check the coaxial cables between the antenna and the receiver, with any switch / junction box
You have connected a new receiver (or TV with built-in receiver) and R6 does not power up2020-03-16T11:08:10+02:00

You connect a completely new receiver (or TV with built-in satellite receiver), and the R6 system does not start up.

Some satellite receivers have the property that if the channellist not is installed, no LNB voltage is delivered. this LNB voltage is needed to power up the R6 antenna.

You have 2 options:

Connect the receiver and read channels to any other existing satellite installation and then connect to the Travelvision R6.

Or

Switch on the receiver, start the first installation of the receiver.
search channel list satellite (the receiver sees no satellite, and will of course not read any channels, but now sends out LNB voltage)
You will then see the operating module of the Travelvision R6 light up.
Align the Travelvision R6 on the satellite.
Then after aligning and removing the control module, start the first installation of the receiver again to install the channels.
You only need to do this once, the channel list will be stored, and LNB voltage will work properly.

Satellite found but you do not have all or any channels:2020-03-16T11:08:07+02:00
  • Check whether your subscription / smart card is still active.
  • Check skew from LNB
  • Blockade satellite (obstacle / tree etc)
  • Receiver does not send LNB voltage (receiver defective)
  • You are outside the footprint of de satellite

If you cannot find the cause, we recommend that you have the system including receiver checked at your dealer.

On your TV you have the message “No signal:”2020-03-16T11:08:05+02:00

The message relates to your receiver or TV input.

Before checking the following:

Remove the control panel from the R6 / 7 after the system has been aligned and optimized!

Individual receiver connected to your TV:

  • Check if the correct source input has been selected from your TV.
  • Press Source on the TV remote control and select the receiver input (HDMI)
  • Check the connectors and coaxial cable between receiver and antenna

TV with built-in receiver:

  • Check the connectors and coax cable between receiver and antenna

You hear a rattling noise but the R6 / 7 is not running.2020-03-16T11:08:12+02:00

The motor pins of the control unit do not rotate properly in the black inserts of the system.

  1. Check whether the control unit is properly placed in the system. If necessary, remove the control unit and plug in again.

  2. The black inserts must be replaced, contact your Dealer

The 2nd light on the power inserter does not light up, the system does not power on2020-03-16T11:08:11+02:00

The second light is an indication that the Travelvision antenna is ready for searching for the satellite.

If you have placed the control module in the system and you switch the connected receiver / TV on any TV channel (not on standby mode), the 2nd green light on the power inserter will light up.

At that time, the control module also lights up and you can use the system to search for a satellite.

The 2nd light goes out again when the satellite is found and after it is fully optimized / focused on the satellite. Or if you removed the control module from the system.

The display shows the error message: No LNB signal2020-03-16T11:08:10+02:00
  • Check whether the F-connector is tightened on the LNB.
  • Check if the LNB cable is damaged.
  • Check the supply voltage (24V) of the adapter on the power insert

If the system continues this error, the LNB or LNB cable is probably defective, contact your supplier.

The display shows the error message: connection with PI lost2020-03-16T11:08:10+02:00

Update the system with the latest version firmware and try again.

link to firmware update R6

The display shows the error message: No 24 V2020-03-16T11:08:09+02:00

The 230 / 24V adapter is not connected or defective.

  • Check if the 230 / 24V adapter is connected.
  • Check the 24V adapter voltage. (24V comes from the 230/24 V adapter)
  • Contact your dealer
The display does not light up, the system does nothing2020-03-16T11:08:09+02:00

Possible causes:

1. The receiver is not connected or switched on. If you have installed the control module in the system and you switch the connected receiver on any TV channel (not on standby!), The 2nd green light on the power inserter will light up. At that time, the control module also lights up and you can use the system.

2. There has been a short circuit in the coax cable.
Check the cables and connectors. The system needs to be reset, turn off the short coaxial cable from the receiver to
the power inserter, wait 3 seconds and tighten again. The power inserter has now been reset and the system is ready for use.

3. LNB voltage is not switched on in receiver menu. Check the LNB voltage in your receiver. consult the manual of your receiver if necessary

4. If you use the external satellite connection in your motorhome or caravan: Connect the supplied coaxial cable
directly to the receiver and see if the system works. Then check your external satellite connection.

5. The receiver may be defective.
Check / measure the LNB voltage of your receiver, does the receiver output 14 or 18 V (depending on the selected channel) when it is switched on?

The dispay gives the error message: Voltage Low2020-03-16T11:08:09+02:00

The system does not receive enough voltage to function

  • The correct adapter voltage is no longer present, check the 230 V supply voltage and the 24 V adapter voltage. (measures the 24V from the 230/24 V adapter)
  • The 15 m supplied coax cable may be damaged, replace the coax cable
  • If you use an external external connection. Connect the supplied 15 meter coax cable directly to the power inserter.

Tip: If the system works with a direct connection, you can reassemble the cable via the external connection after alignment. Check the inner and outer cables for defects for a general solution.

Use of an external outdoor connection: Using an external external connection can cause problems with the operation of the system. In many cases this is caused by voltage loss and the system will therefore display the error message “voltage too low”.

When the system does not work with an external external connection, there can be several reasons:

  • A thinner / lighter type of coaxial cable was used in the camper / caravan.
  • The junction box or cable has an earth fault due to, for example, damage.
  • If the coax cable is too thin, or there is a leakage current somewhere, there is not enough voltage coming to the R6 system. The cable and connection boxes must be checked.
The system has found the satellite but is pointing towards the caravan / motorhome?2020-03-16T11:08:06+02:00

Due to the reflection of the satellite signal, it is possible that the system aligns itself with a reflecting surface such as the side of the motorhome/caravan. The satellite signal is sufficient for receiving the satellite, but it may be too weak to watch (some) TV channels. Move the antenna and re-align the antenna, or stand between the antenna and the reflective surface during the search procedure.

The display shows the error message E: OXBAFF2020-03-16T11:08:06+02:00

The motor control in the control panel is defective.
Contact your Dealer for repair of the control panel.

Poor reception2020-03-16T11:08:23+02:00

The source of poor reception signal can have various causes. Below a number of possible causes, sorted by the most common ones.

  • Obstacle (building, but also a tree) between the satellite and the system
  • LNB skew not turned correctly (0, + 1 etc)
  • Bad connection of a connector (manual fixed is sufficient)
  • Cable damage inside or outside the system
  • Tuner / receiver defective (also cabling between TV and receiver)
  • LNB defective

Tips:

GPS Location:

Are you waiting for the system to find its GPS location? If the GPS symbol ∞ stops flashing in the window, the GPS location is found and the system displays the correct LNB position.

Only press start after the location has been found and after you have set the correct skew position.

Hinge:

Did you unfold the LNB arm completely until the hinge clicked?

Footprint:

Are you within the reception area?

The display shows the error message: USB stick not found2020-03-16T11:08:06+02:00

The system does not recognize the USB stick.

A possible solution could be to format the USB stick and try again.

Once you have received the message on the display, do the following before you try and test:

  • R6 system: take the control unit out and put it in so that it restarts.
  • R7 system: switch the control unit off and on briefly

Format USB stick with Windows:

To format a USB stick, proceed as follows:

  • Select Open Computer / My Computer / This PC via the start button (depending on your Windows version). You will see the connected drives in this window.
  • Click with the right mouse button on the USB stick that you have connected and will use.
  • Then click Format.
  • The window will then open with the title of the drive letter indicating which disk will be formatted.
  • Choose FAT or FAT 32 as the file format if the capacity of the stick exceeds 2 GB.
  • Check the box next to Quick Format
  • Press start.

  • R6 system: take the control unit out and put it in so that it restarts.
  • R7 system: switch the control unit off and on briefly

1. Have you put the files directly on the stick or in a folder? You must put the files directly in the root of the stick, not in a folder.

2. If you view the files on the stick, you will see FIRMWARE.BIN or you may see FIRMWARE (2) .BIN. In the last example, your PC / Mac has downloaded the file multiple times and your browser automatically places an extension after it. Delete the extension so that it really has FIRMWARE.BIN (this applies to all files of the update)

3. Problems with the USB stick, format your usb stick and try again. Format USB stick with Windows

The module is difficult to remove2020-03-16T11:08:24+02:00

(too) difficult removing a control module,

Tip: Some people benefit from the method of removal below.

  • Left palm rests on system,
  • Right hand thumb presses pin, and rest pulls on display
  • Left hand thumb “guide” the control panel to the outside

If your module is too difficult to remove, a clamping ring may also be removed from the module holder.

You could also do this yourself. Below 3 images. You can remove the washer with a flat screwdriver

Pay attention! First remove the first washer and try again to remove the module. is it getting lighter?  with both washers removing at the same time there is a risk that the module will come out too lightly!

Is it possible to use a longer coax cable as the supplied 15 mtr?2020-03-16T11:08:11+02:00

This is possible, it has been tested with a total coax length of 30 meters.

However, the following matters are important:

  • The coax must be of good quality (no thin coax, otherwise too much voltage loss will occur)
  • If you use an external external connection on your caravan, you must also include the internal coax cable in the caravan. If the internal coax in the caravan is of lesser quality (thin core), this is an additional loss.

Should the R6 / 7 be level?2020-03-16T11:08:09+02:00

The system does not have to be exactly level to find the satellite. However, the flatter the system is placed, the faster the correct satellite is found. It also works in favor of the indicated LNB rotation.

Find time of GPS location2020-03-16T11:08:08+02:00

Finding the GPS location can vary in time.

Starting up the GPS sensor takes an average of 20-40 seconds after installing the control module.
The sensor then searches for the GPS coordinates of your location.
The GPS sensor is located in the upper right corner of the control module.

To find the GPS satellites (quickly), the control module needs as much clear view as possible.
The dish tray can also act as a barrier between the satellites and the control module. (for example, one side Motorhome / Caravan the other side the antenna dish

To shorten the GPS location, you can place the R7 system in the tripod in such a way that the operating module is in as much clear view as possible.

Where can I see what my current software version is?2020-03-16T11:08:10+02:00

If you place the control module in the system (in a fully connected system), it starts up and the text Travelvision appears, followed by the software version 2. *. *

The software update files cannot be opened .2020-03-16T11:08:07+02:00

No, the software files are machine language, and you will not get the downloaded files opened with a computer.

This is not necessary either.

After the download you only have to copy the files (copy right mouse button) and place (paste right mouse button) on an empty USB stick.
